A deposit of 50% is payable to secure a booking, this should be done via Direct Transfer (EFT).
Cancellation and refund Policy
  • More than 3 months' notice of cancellation before the hike, will receive a full refund of the deposit, less 5% administration/cancellation fee.
  • Between 3 months and 4 weeks cancellation before the hike, 75% of the deposit will be refunded
  • One to 4 weeks’ notice of cancellation before the hike: 25% of the deposit will be refunded.
  • Less than one weeks’ notice before the hike: No refund.
  • If a cancellation is made more than 3 months before the hike, the full deposit can be transferred to a later date.
Irrevocable waiver and indemnity
The Alikreukel Trail, represented by the persons organising and presenting the hikes, hereafter referred to as “The Facilitator”, has the following conditions which all participants must take note of and accept:
  1. I acknowledge that I have read, understand and accept the terms and conditions of this waiver, indemnity and all other terms and conditions contained in any and/or all the documents presented to me by the Facilitator, its employees, representatives, guides, suppliers and/or subcontractors;
  2. I acknowledge that in the event that I participate in the Alikreukel Trail or any associated activities of any nature whatsoever offered by the Facilitator, its employees, representatives, guides, suppliers and/or subcontractors, then I do so at my own risk and hereby accept all risk of any nature whatsoever whether reasonable or otherwise that are attendant upon my participation in such activities;
  3. I am aware of the risks that hiking over a variety of terrains involves and what injury or losses it might cause to me as a person. I am also aware of the risks that kayaking on a river involves.
  4. I undertake to prepare myself physically for the demands that an extended hiking trip might place on my body;
  5. I hereby irrevocably waive any and all claims of any nature whatsoever and howsoever arising, which may come into existence after the date of signature of this waiver, against the Facilitator, its employees, representatives, guides, suppliers and/or subcontractors and/or owners of immovable property over which the trail stretches, with regard to any and all damages and/or loss that I may suffer as a result of any activities in which I may participate pursuant to any service, undertaking, activity and/or supply of equipment offered and/or undertaken by the Facilitator, its employees, representatives, guides, suppliers and/or subcontractors and/or owners of immovable property over which the trail stretches;
  6. I further do hereby irrevocably indemnify and hold harmless the Facilitator, its employees, representatives, guides, suppliers and/or subcontractors and/or owners of immovable property over which the trail stretches against all and any actions, suits, proceedings, claims, demands, costs and expenses of whatsoever nature and howsoever incurred which may be taken or made against them or become payable by them arising out of :
    • 6.1. any damage or loss to any equipment or property occurring for whatsoever reason
    • while on the premises of the Facilitator or any other premises forming part of the Alikreukel Trail or while using the facilities of the Facilitator or its’ associates, whether such damage and/or loss are attributed to the negligence or otherwise of the Facilitator, its employees, representatives, guides, suppliers and/or subcontractors, or not;
    • 6.2. any injury or loss of life occurring for whatsoever reason while I am on the premises of the Facilitator or any premises forming part of the Alikreukel Trail or using any of the Facilitator’s equipment and/or facilities, where such damage, injury or loss is attributed to the negligence of the Facilitator, its employees, representatives, guides, suppliers and/or subcontractors.
  7. I acknowledge that the waiver and indemnity shall be construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of South Africa, notwithstanding any cause giving rise to any claim, I or any person claiming through me might have against the Facilitator, its employees, representatives, guides, suppliers and/or subcontractors arising in another country, anywhere in the world.
